Use Pinterest Performance+ Creative

Pinterest Performance+ Creative, which is part of Pinterest Performance+, helps you meet your campaign objectives with two offerings:
  • Creative optimizations automatically converts your product Pins into multiple types of ads (collections and shopping) and delivers the best performing ads to users at scale.
  • Generate backgrounds uses generative AI to apply backgrounds for your product images to help drive user inspiration and engagement for Pinterest Performance+ and non-Pinterest Performance+ catalog sales campaigns.

Enable creative optimizations

To enable the Pinterest Performance+ creative optimizations feature, set the
creative_optimization
parameter to
TRUE
in the following endpoints:
POST
Create ad groups
PATCH
Update ad groups

Generate backgrounds

Restricted
To enable this feature, set the
is_generate_background
parameter to
TRUE
in the following endpoints:
POST
Create product group promotions
PATCH
Update product group promotions
When the
is_generate_background
parameter is enabled in the API for catalog sales campaigns, advertisers can view background samples for products in Ads Manager.
We dynamically generate different sample experiences based on product categories.
See the sample images in the following table to get an idea of the backgrounds we generate.

While the sample images in this table are static, the images in Ad Manager are dynamically generated.
