Using beta and restricted features
The Pinterest API includes features that are in beta release as well as features that have restricted use. We identify these features with labels in the developer docs.
Beta features are typically still in development. We encourage you to test them and provide feedback using this form, so that we can gauge their value and make improvements. Beta time windows vary from a few weeks to open-ended durations. Pinterest releases two types of beta features:
Open beta features are available to all developers with access to the Pinterest API.
Closed beta features are available to specific invited developers and organizations. In some cases, we also grant access by request.
Certain released features are only available to specific organizations. They are labeled Restricted in the documentation.
Restricted features are also referred to as advanced elsewhere on Pinterest sites.
If you try to call a restricted or closed beta endpoint without having been granted access by a Pinterest representative, you are likely to receive an error response indicating that you do not have access.
