You can define your own custom conversion event types that reflect customer interactions unique to your business and then map them to Pinterest standard event types, so that you can use them for tracking and campaign optimization.
A maximum of 15 custom events is available for every advertiser ID.

The ability to include a
reporting_timezone
field in requests to analytics endpoints has been released for general availability.
Using this field helps you control how time-based data is sliced, which affects how you interpret campaign performance metrics.

You can focus a Pinterest Performance+ campaign on new customer acquisition (NCA) to unlock deliberate ads delivery modifications.
By adding several parameters to campaigns and ad groups, you can define your existing customer segment and express the relative value of a new customer conversion by setting a value rule with the bid multiplier.

Affected parameters:
  • performance_plus_campaign_settings
    : Object containing settings that only apply to Pinterest Performance+ campaigns, and are otherwise omitted.
  • boost_prospecting_ad_group_bid
    : Set this boolean to
    true
    to prioritize new customers by applying a bid multiplier to the campaign's retargeting and prospecting—or base—ad group.
  • pinner_list_exclusions
    : Pass audience lists of existing customers to exclude these from targeting, so that the campaign is biased toward new customers.
  • feed_profile_id
    : For campaigns with a
    CATALOG_SALES
    objective, pass the ID of the merchant feed profile that the ad group should use for catalog-based delivery.

When tracking conversions, you can pass your own defined name for an event that does not conform to any other Pinterest type. This enables you to attribute, optimize, and report on the unique user behaviors that matter to your business, such as taking a survey.
You can pass any upper- or lower-case letters (treated as case insensitive), numerals 0 through 9, underscores
_
, and hyphens
-
.
Limit the name to 100 characters.

You can define up to 15 events for each advertiser ID.
How to use this feature with different ingestion methods
  • See the
    event_name
    parameter description in the Conversions API guide.
  • See the "custom event that you name" event description in the Pinterest Tag guide.
  • For Mobile measurement partner (MMP) integrations, use the event
    name/event_type
    field. Note that it is preferable to use the Conversions API.
  • For Ads Manager or LiveRamp uploads, set the appropriate
    event_type
